It's been so busy we've neglected to update the blog! September finished with the annual Lincoln Pride event, which saw us wheel out the Human Fruit Machine - whilst much derided on the Archers - it attracted many to our stall, or that may have been the free Rainbow Drops. President Lucy went as a … Continue reading Pride, Cake Sales & Poppies

Bollywood Comes to Lincoln
It was our fourth (yes we can't believe it either) birthday party for October's meeting and time for some Bollywood dancing, and Indian themed snacks. Local fitness and dance instructor Sally came along and Committee member Ingrid kindly brought a range of saris for us to try on. The evening kicked off as usual with … Continue reading Bollywood Comes to Lincoln
Craftivism – September Meeting
September's meeting was all about craftivism, a blend of activism and crafts. Tea & Tents 2016
The annual WI camping extravaganza Tea and Tents was on the hottest weekend of the year, and fortunately reasonably locally for the Lincoln WI over the county border in Nottinghamshire, Walesby. 11 intrepid campers headed off, but due to illness not everyone was eventually able to attend for the whole weekend, and what a weekend … Continue reading Tea & Tents 2016
What a Bee-sy Meeting!
The May meeting saw us host local beekeeper Simon Croson, and there were lots of guests, although we resisted the urge to sing the Arthur Askey Bee song and a rousing rendition of Jerusalem was sung. The meeting also was a time for this year's resolutions to be debated, which was done admirably by Danni and Lucy, however, … Continue reading What a Bee-sy Meeting!
Heart Cushions for Cancer Patients
This year we are having an on-going drive to make and donate heart shaped cushions to Lincoln Hospital for breast cancer patients. These cushions provide physical support for women who have had breast surgery. Currently the hospital gets through about 10 cushions a week, so whilst storage is tight demand is quite high. Nina has … Continue reading Heart Cushions for Cancer Patients
