September’s meeting was all about craftivism, a blend of activism and crafts. Committee member (and VP and campaign rep) Lucy gave us the talk and explained how she has been able to participate in political activism from deepest Lincolnshire and Norfolk from the comfort of her front room.

Lucy told us how she had written to her local MP aged 12 as part of a school project, that she subsequently went to on protest against the second Gulf War, and also against large multi-national companies who fail to pay their workers a living wage.

By having a sew-in outside Lincoln’s M&S.
After Lucy’s inspiring talk we embroidered food waste pledges, which will be stitched together to make a hanging. It also gave us a chance to publicise what may be a WI campaign.
