The August Bank Holiday was the annual Asylum Steampunk festival centred in the Bail in Lincoln. For the second year the Lincoln WI took over St Mary Magdalene’s church serving tea (and coffee and juice) to thirsty Steampunk-ers and raising money for local charities.

Enthusiastic members of the WI got into the spirit and came in Steampunk outfits, marrying up crafty fabric and baking talents in one go.

Fortunately, unlike last year, the weather was glorious and over 700 thirsty customers came through the doors, raising over £700 for Framework and the Lincoln WI. Many people were complimentary about our baking skills and the fashion on display.

Next event will be Lincoln Pride, so look out for our rainbow themed stall there.
