Lincoln WI is 13 years old – and we had our annual dance night, with Go Dance.

This year we chose to go disco dancing, and we had a lively session.

Before that we had the opportunity to thank some of our unsung heroines who are at every meeting helping set up, serving members tea and cake, been on the committee since the beginning and helped raise lots of cash for local charities.

Boney M was blasting out from the speaker and we shimmied and rolled and disco fingers were pointed. For some of us it was the most active we’d been for a while, and the turns were a bit too much so a side step was in order. There was also imminent danger of getting tangled up in the bunting, but fortunately a quick adjustment sorted that out.

After considerable boogying we stopped for a non-alcoholic fizz and some delicious birthday cake. We also had a birthday gift for all members, and those who were unable to make it will be given theirs at the next meeting.

After the break we continued with a different pace and something more up to date, and bopped to Golden from K-Pop Demon Hunters, which brought much amusement. Fortunately Golden is a bit slower than Boney M, so we didn’t find ourselves too worn out. The cool down to Soda Pop didn’t involve shoulder shrugging, but did provide an ear worm for members.
