Local artist, and Lincoln WI member, Nina came with a big bag of wool tops, large pieces of foam and a pile of felting needles.

After a brief instruction period and a warning to keep our fingers away from the sharp end and a wave of plasters in case we couldn’t we were off.

We had a lot to live up to as Nina’s demonstration pieces were quite beautiful.

Members attacked the project with gusto, laying the background down and keeping fingers well away from the sharp end.

After a successful stabbing session members were shown how to blend to colours to reduce the intensity, make sheep, flowers, clouds (which were quite similar to the sheep) and leaves.

And finally all the pictures were gathered together to showcase everyone’s newly found skills.

More time would have allowed for the pictures to incorporate beading, embroidery over the felting or other added embellishments, but for about an hour and half the results were quite professional.
