March is the annual Lincolnshire North Federation meeting at the Embassy Theatre in Skegness and a couple of us went along. Apart from the usual business of reviewing the annual accounts, agreeing the minutes of the previous meeting there was an amazing announcement that the Red Dress Embroidery project will be visiting Lincolnshire in March next year. WI members will have access to tickets early and will be priced from £50 to £5, £50 includes a workshop and £5 is for entry and there are other prices as well. More information to follow.

After the business side of the meeting DSI London came and spoke about the dresses they create for BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing. The speed of the turn around, from 24 hours to 3 days, that Vicky, who designs the dresses, is multi talented and has danced, sewn as well as designing dresses, she is a creative genius. We were also informed whilst the women’s dresses are designed to wow and impress it is the men’s outfits that have to fit more precisely to ensure that the holds are correct and points are not deducted.

To add to the excitement Lincoln Imps Quiz team had won the Federation quiz, and we were able to collect the rather lovely vase and certificate.
