Despite some bad spelling on Facebook June’s meeting was about grief and coping with loss. Jonathan was a really informative speaker and spoke about the waterfall of bereavement and whirlpool of grief and how no matter you may wish to go back up the waterfall it’s impossible. He also mentioned the growing around grief model, where the size of a person’s grief stays the same, but their life expands around it.
Jonathan spoke about different types of grief such as disenfranchised or complicated. He also talked about items of remembrance, as Lara had brought along her late father’s screen to use this seemed particularly apt.
Members didn’t ask many questions, although personal experiences were shared. There was a lot of talk after the talk and a few people spoke to Jonathan on a one-to-one basis.
