March 2022 – two years since our last meeting prior to the first lock-down, but we have been back in person for a while.
This month Roz from the UK’s largest mannequin hire company, Mannakin, came and spoke to us about she started her business from her front room to the site she now occupies near Lincoln.
She brought with her Stephanie, a female mannequin and spoke about the lack of diverse mannequins, including plus sized ones.
It’s hard to get over in a short blog post how interesting this was, Roz not only hires out the mannequins, but refurbishes and sells them, hosts Hallow’een nights, hires out spaces to artists, has a small motor-home site, and her site has been used by film crews and photographers.
