The annual WI camping extravaganza Tea and Tents was on the hottest weekend of the year, and fortunately reasonably locally for the Lincoln WI over the county border in Nottinghamshire, Walesby.
11 intrepid campers headed off, but due to illness not everyone was eventually able to attend for the whole weekend, and what a weekend it was.
Unlike previous years everyone was asked for a volunteer slot and the Lincoln WI were pleased to be there right at the start and right to end setting up and putting away. But the in between bit was pretty awesome too. There was flower crown making:
Blind date with a book:

A mass yarn bomb, as shown in the top photo and some darn good camping too:
In fact there was so much going on it could fill the rest of the blog posts for the entire year, but here are few more things to give you an idea: knitting and crochet workshops, a members’ market, Tea and Tents Has Got Talent, open air swimming, veg badge making, crystal sound baths, silk painting, Speakers’ Corner hosting a variety of talks, yoga, pilates, zumba, hot-tubs, facials, darts, a beer swap… the list goes on and on.
We’re just hoping it continues next year – a big thank you to the organisers, all those who gave their time freely and the Secret Squirrels.
